the design process
Once we receive your call, we identify the type of oak frame building you require. We will then arrange a suitable time to meet with you at your property, where we will show you our portfolio and review the property and where the new oak building will be situated.
At the first meeting/consultation we can determine the exact size of building required and review any possible complications such as trees or close boundaries.

We will determine your exact building requirements and our questions will include items such as:
- The roof finish – would you like the roof tiled using slates, thatch or cedar shingles
- Do you require any cladding to the external walls? Would you prefer oak strait boards, wainy edge boards, larch, or softwood.
- Will your building need any external oak stairs? Would you like them covered or uncovered?
- What the internal layout will look like? For example, the size of the garage space. Any office space and size? Would you like a gym? Number of bedrooms and bathrooms?
- Will your building space include a kitchen space?

We will then provide a detailed proposal and quote for the design work for your review.
We include within our proposal’s items such as electrical works, plumbing and groundworks which will all be very different for each and every customer.
Once you are happy with the proposal and we have your go ahead we will create a design and full elevation drawings with site survey, all ready to be submitted to the relevant planning office. And if required we will also include a full tree survey with the planning application.
Once all the relevant planning applications have been approved, we can start the building process and arrange building control.
The groundworks can start, which includes the foundations, either a concrete slab or brick plinth ready to support the oak frame. Once complete, the oak frame will be delivered ready to be fabricated on site.
